Our Competencies

Guide and intervene in the formulation and implementation, at the state level, of public policies aimed at promoting tourism in Nueva Esparta state.

Promote the tourism development of Nueva Esparta state, through the rational and comprehensive use of all its natural, historical, architectural, folklore and traditional resources.

Design and keep updated, according to the guidelines established by the competent authority, a state data center to recover, record, organize, preserve and provide information, experiences and documentation to public sector agencies and private individuals.

Promote citizen participation in public management. For participation in consultations on policies and regulations for the tourism sector, it shall keep a registry of organized communities and non-state public organizations whose purpose relates to tourism and that freely request registration.

Keep permanently updated and available to people in the corresponding information units the organization scheme, as well as informational guides on the administrative procedures, services and benefits applicable within its scope of competence.

As the governing body of tourism activity in the state, exercise the other powers conferred by the Decree with force of Organic Tourism Law, and by other applicable legal norms.

Any others assigned by its attachment body.

Assist and advise municipal entities and organized communities in popular power instances and other forms of participation within their jurisdiction on tourism matters.

Participate with national public entities and bodies and private institutions in activities directly or indirectly related to regional tourism.

Participate together with the ministry of popular power competent in tourism matters in the implementation of tourism programs and projects as a community and social activity, in line with the National Strategic Tourism Plan.

Promote the creation of tourism information and services centers.

Encourage and promote, in coordination with public entities and bodies and private institutions, the development of small and medium tourism investors, tourism service providers and socio-productive organizations constituted in popular power instances and other forms of participation.

Prepare, compile and keep updated supply and demand statistics in its territory for tourism planning, with the cooperation of municipal authorities, tourism service providers and organized communities in popular power instances and other forms of participation, in line with the guidelines issued by the popular power competent in tourism matters, allocating the financial resources for this purpose.

Compile and update the inventory of tourism heritage, as well as publish the tourism catalog of its territorial scope and any other dissemination instrument, according to the guidelines established by the ministry of popular power competent in tourism matters.

Protect the physical integrity of the tourist or visitor and their property in their corresponding regions, in coordination with the citizen security bodies and entities.
